Aspen Pumps Awarded Queen's Award for Second Time
Aspen Pumps was recently awarded its second Queen’s Award, this time for Innovation. In 2009, the pump manufacturer won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
The UK-based company is recognized by this latest award for its commitment to providing ‘innovative, market leading products’ with its recent development of a pioneering range of pumps designed for all types of air conditioning installation. Aspen Pumps products focus on the air conditioning engineer and are installed in 100 countries worldwide.
“Aspen Pumps was started because there was a gap in the market that needed to be filled,” says CEO Adrian Thompson. “Installers were using pumps that weren’t fit for purpose, that were cumbersome and difficult to maintain. The engineers that founded the company wanted to provide the market with a pump that would be easy to maintain and which would inevitably make life easier for the installer. The ethos of filling market requirements and product innovation hasn’t changed since 1992. We pride ourselves on pushing back boundaries and giving installers what they actually want, not what we think they need.''
Aspens claims it was at the forefront of the mini-pump revolution. This pump range is able to fulfill applications where larger pumps fail. An in-house innovation team at Aspen designs its market specific products, including recent advances in anti-siphoning, sound-dampening and universal voltage technology. This team ensures the mini-pump range is versatile and flexible.
The Mini Lime is a one piece pump that can be fit into the trunking, while the Mini Aqua can be fitted into the unit itself. The Mini Orange is designed specifically for ducted units, fitting above the ceiling void, whereas the Mini Blanc is ideal for installations that require quick access for maintenance, fitting underneath a wall-mounted unit. Aspen’s Silent+ range, launched in 2010, addressed consumer demand for lower noise emissions.
