Centrifugal pump supplier Amarinth lands order in Iraq
The Zubair Initial Production Facility located in Basra in southern Iraq is getting a new water treatment package thanks to a deal brokered with Amarinth last November. Amarinth manufactures centrifugal pumps for the general industrial, chemical and petrochemical markets.
This is the company's first order in Iraq, according to a news release from the company.
Working with Horizon Development International (Basra) as their agent, Amarinth will supply 12 API 610 OH2 A-Series pumps on a tight 24 week delivery schedule. Amarinth’s partnership with Horizon Development has provided the pump company with direct access to the Iraq’s rapidly expanding oil and gas market.
“We see this as a significant growth region for the next three to five years and so it’s especially pleasing to have our first reference there,” says Oliver Brigginshaw, Managing Director of Amarinth.
The pump supplier will also be working closely with Global Process Systems, who was awarded the contract to supply the produced water treatment package for the Zubair Facility. Global Process Systems has worked successfully with Amarinth during previous projects in the Middle East. The Zubair project is expected to increase oil production from the Zuibar oil field by 300,000 bpd.
