Fuji Techno's Metering Pumps Offer Superior Accuracy

Fuji Techno Industries, a manufacturer and distributor of a variety of pump products, offers super metering pumps (SMPs) that have a pumping accuracy of ±0.1% or less, without creating pulsations in the liquid flow. Andrew Fallows, managing director of Motor Technology, the UK-based European agent for Japanese company Fuji Techno, states that no other pump in the world is able to match the accuracy and performance of the SMP offered by Fuji.

The Super Metering Pumps from Fuji have a pump head, an electric motor, and a triple plunger system that’s driven by a specially designed cam, which controls the plungers. The pumped liquid utilizes suction and discharge valves for entry and exit, filling each chamber with a precise volume of liquid as the plungers withdraw on its suction stroke. Liquid is discharged as each plunger then re-enters its chamber.

Each plunger is perfectly timed, and the suction and discharge cycle is controlled by the cam. The total liquid discharged is extremely accurate and predictably constant with no pulsations in the flow of material.

The plungers are able to make different motions in six stages within a single revolution of the cam, all in harmony with the others. For example, one plunger can begin its discharge stroke with the cam at zero degrees, while the second plunger starts at 120 degrees, and the third plunger starts at 240 degrees, ensuring a constant flow with no pulsations.

Wear to valve seats is minimized, ensuring high accuracy with specially designed suction and discharge valves that utilize smooth movement of the check balls.

SMPs are perfect for a variety of applications that include pharmaceutical and chemical processing, urethane, chromatography, explosives, food processing, film, spraying and coating, cosmetics line mixing for liquids, feed for extruders, and water treatment.
