Graco Introduces E-Flo DC Electric Drive Pumps

Last week, Graco Inc. (NYSE:GGG) presented its new high-performance E-Flo® DC (Dual Control) line of industrial pumps for paint finishing applications. A leading manufacturer of fluid-handling equipment, the company’s new line is designed to deliver energy efficiency, cost savings, and high quality finishes.

“The E-Flo DC combines the best features of pneumatic and electric circulation pumps," says Bill Heuer, Product Marketing Manager, Industrial Products Division. “It maintains constant fluid pressure like pneumatic pumps while delivering cost savings through the use of a highly efficient electric motor. Ultimately, the Dual Control technology not only provides more consistent finishes, but saves customers money by using less energy.”

Designed to operate by maintaining either constant pressure or a constant flow rate, Graco’s E-Flo® DC electric circulating pumps are five times more efficient than similarly sized pneumatic pumps, translating to significantly lower electric bills for the end user. The pumps also operate more than 20 dbAs quieter than OSHA’s continuous sound regulation for an eight hour work day.

The pumps are protected from premature wear by a standard integrated runaway protection system. Heur says: “With runaway protection, the E-Flo DC pump automatically shuts off if material has stopped flowing to the pump. This safety mechanism not only prevents costly material loss, but also reduces maintenance and increases longevity of the product.”

E-Flo DC pumps are available as Basic or Advanced models. The Basic model makes it easy to adjust the pump settings with two simple control knobs located directly on the pump. The Advanced model offers additional performance control with a single digital control module that enables users to manage multiple pumps. It also has the ability to integrate with a customer’s Programmable Logic Controller network via fiber optics.

"The E-Flo DC is the ideal solution for customers wishing to upgrade their existing paint circulation systems,” says Heuer. “The E-Flo DC pumps have a small footprint and are a great solution for a replacement pump. The pumps are easy to install, requiring only single-phase 110/220 volt, 50/60 Hz power with no Variable Frequency Drive required.”
