Grundfos has inaugurated a facility in Bogota, the capital city of Colombia. The global pump company is headquartered in Denmark.

The new facility capitalizes on a recent surge of positive development in Columbia, due mainly to increased utilization of its big oil resources. The self-described ‘ambitious project’ may be the first of many developments in the region.

“Columbia is one of the most important countries in South America,” says Carlos Añasco, Deputy General Managerof, Grundfos Colombia. “We intend to expand further.”

“Our strategy in recent years is to be close to our customers,” says Group Executive Vice President Lars Aagaard. The South American expansion aligns with that strategy, enabling Grundfos to grow globally while supporting its customers in close proximity.

Grundfos management is optimistic about future development in Colombia. Regional Managing Director Carlo Prola says: “We want to be number one.”
