Grundfos Launches Extended Range of High-Efficiency SP Submersible Groundwater Pumps
Grundfos, a leading pump manufacturer, has launched an extended range of high-efficiency, medium-sized SP submersible groundwater pumps. The four-inch SP pump range has been expanded from two to three sizes, with plans for additional sizes to follow. Built out of stainless steel with three different material grades, the groundwater pumps are able to accommodate a variety of liquid types from drinking water to seawater.
"We have invested substantially in extending the SP range and in new production facilities in Denmark, showing our commitment to the market for medium-sized submersible groundwater pumps," says Jakob Overgaard, Global Product Manager at Grundfos. "Grundfos is far ahead of current efficiency requirements, and our participation in driving energy efficiency initiatives ensures that industry standards are set as high as possible."
Grundfos is committed to sustainable development practices. Starting January 1, 2015, all Ecodesign pumps are required to have an MEI value of greater than 0.04. GRundfos pumps not only meet but surpass that value. In addition, the submersible pumps offer increased efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions, with the potential to save substantially on optimized pump operations.
The four-inch SP submersible groundwater pump range also meets drinking water approvals worldwide. The pumps are CE labeled and they offer increased wear resistance.
The SP submersible pumps from Grundfos are ideal for a wide variety of applications that include groundwater supply to waterworks, irrigation, and pressure boosting because the pumps are made entirely of corrosion-resistant stainless steel. Their state-of-the-art hydraulic design is built to deliver optimum efficiency during periods of high demand and offers high resistance to abrasive materials. A complete monitoring and control system is available for constant optimization of the pumping system.
"Considering the reputation the SP pump already has for reliability, system integration, and efficiency, we are sure customers will welcome the new four-inch SP pump," says Jakob Overgaard. "In addition to meeting the new Ecodesign Directive requirements, the potential for energy savings is substantial."
