Duncan Cooper was recently named president and chief executive officer of Grundfos North America. His predecessor Jes Munk Hansen left the company after five years to pursue other interests.

“With more than 11 years of experience as a regional managing director in Europe, Duncan brings strong sales and marketing leadership to his new role,” says Søren Ø. Sørensen, Group executive vice president. “His experience will complement our existing strategies and plans.”

Cooper has 16 years experience within the company, his most recent role being regional managing director of Grundfos Western Europe where he led a region of more than 1,300 employees and over $900 million in revenues. He will maintain his role as Group senior vice president.

“I look forward to working with our team in North America to achieve our ambitious goal of doubling regional revenues to $1 billion,” Cooper says. “We will continue to expand our business and support our partners through innovative techniques to further tap into this growing market.”

As president and CEO of Grundfos North America, Cooper will oversee and direct all operations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Presidents or general managers of individual sectors and heads of finance, human resources and public affairs will also report directly to Cooper.

Cooper first started at Grundfos as managing director of Grundfos United Kingdom. In 2003, he was promoted to managing director and Group senior vice president for North Europe and Africa, where he developed a strategy of growth in Africa that enabled the 2008 launch of a stand-alone area.

Grundfos North America opened its headquarters in the Chicago area in 2013 and is celebrating its 40th year of operations. The company employs 1,600 people in 10 sales and service facilities throughout the region.
