Grundfos partners with Kansas City Royals

Grundfos is now the official pump and pump systems provider for the Kansas City Royals.

The partnership between the pump manufacturer and the professional baseball team will focus on water use and efficiency -- inside and outside of Kauffman Stadium. First up: Grundfos is helping audit the stadium's signature fountains. The pump company will then install components aimed increasing the fountains' water and power efficiency.

“Our new partnership with Grundfos is another step in making Kauffman Stadium one of the most environmentally-friendly facilities in sports,” said Michael Bucek, Royals Vice President. “We are excited to bring a great local company on board and benefit from the latest technologies in water efficiency.”

While Grundfos world headquarters is in Bjerringbro, Denmark, its U.S. headquarters is in Olathe, Kansas.

Grundfos signs will be placed in stadium fountains in left field for the 2012 season. The Royals and Grundfos will also host the first annual Walk for Water at Kauffman Stadium on June 16 as part of Grundfos' mission to increase awareness and provide clean water systems around the world.
