Hydraulic Institute encourages young engineers to attend its Fall MeetingAugust 28, 2012
Hoping to encourage attendance by young engineers, the Hydraulic Institute (HI) is offering a 50 percent discount on registration for its annual Fall Meeting to individuals at member companies who are under the age of 35 and have served less than 10 years in the pump industry. This year's fall meeting, scheduled for Oct. 23 -- 27 in Memphis, will focus on a range of topics from pump system optimization and pump efficiency to international trade updates and the use of social media in the pump industry.
The line up of speakers includes experts from HI as well as member companies. In addition to the seminars, the fall meeting also gives HI's several technical committees an opportunity to review specific areas of knowledge that will help develop new or updated ANSI/HI Pump Standards. HI encourages attendees who are interested in a particular topic or have an area of expertise -- as well as young engineers -- to attend and participate in this meetings.
The Hydraulic Institute is the largest association of pump producers and suppliers to the pump industry in North America, and is an authority on pumps and pumping systems. HI Pump Standards are reliable, widely accepted references for anyone involved in pumps, including users, consultants, contractors, construction firms, manufacturers of pumps, seals, motors, instrumentation, controls, and pump software developers and systems integrators. HI periodically introduces new Standards based on industry needs.
