KSB, a worldwide pump and valve manufacturer, received a substantial order at the end of August 2015 to be completed by KSB Pumps Ltd. India. The order includes six boiler feed pumps that will be installed in a new, ultra-modern, fossil fueled power station. The power station is located in Tanda in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

To keep up with demand, India’s national power utility company is currently building two new plants in Tanda, which is why it has enlisted the help of KSP Pumps Ltd. India. The new boiler feeder pumps will have a capacity of 600 MW and are designed to withstand pressures of 500 bar. Both an electric motor and a turbine will drive the pumps. The electric motors boast a rating of 11 MW, while the turbine has a rating of 17 MW.

KSB Pumps Ltd. India isn’t just supplying six boiler feed pumps to the power station in India. The pump manufacturer will also be supplying six booster pumps, in addition to baseplates, electric motors, hydraulic couplings, oil coolers, gearboxes, noise enclosures, and all related instrumentation.

KSB Pumps Ltd. India received the order from the Tanda Power station because it is known for manufacturing all pump sets at its Chinchwad plant. This state-of-the art plant is equipped with manufacturing and testing facilities, keeping the project close to home. The plant is also able to conduct elaborate performance tests prior to delivery, which will ensure fast and dependable installation and operation. In addition to having a manufacturing and testing plant in India, KSB has production plants, sales offices, agents, and service centers in more than 100 countries all around the world.

Delivery of all the pumps and supplies will begin in November 2016. The entire project is expected to be complete by May 2017.
