Mouvex Eccentric Disc Pumps Safely Transfer and Contain Isocyanates

The SLC Series Seal-less Eccentric Disc Pump by Mouvex® safely transfers and contains isocynates with a design that requires no magnets, mechanical seals or packing. Mouvex is a leading manufacturer of positive displacement pumps, vane compressors, screw compressors and hydraulic coolers.

Commonly used in the paint & coatings industry, isocynates poses various short- and long-term health risks if workers are overexposed to these highly reactive chemicals. Isocyanates are also flammable when combined with explosive vapors.

These volatile chemicals require a low shear pump that handles product gently, has strong suction capability, and offers a low-maintenance wear-compensation design. Mouvex’s SLC Series pumps offer superior suction at low speeds, minimizing worker risk and maximizing efficiency by ensuring nearly all product is removed from the piping before maintenance.

The Eccentric Disc Pump features a unique design that allows the pump to self-compensate for mechanical wear, giving the pump the ability to maintain consistent flow rates over time. SLC Series Eccentric Disc Pumps are ATEX-rated and TA Luft-certified to handle dangerous properties in highly explosive environments.

Mougvex’s SLC Series pumps are self-priming pumps and can run dry for up to ten minutes. The units also feature line-stripping capabilities, high vacuum and compression effect, reduced components and maintenance, and clean-in-place (CIP) / sanitize- in-place (SIP) capabilities. All three SLC models have speeds up to 1,000 RPM with flow rates from 4.4 gpm (1 m3/h) to 13.2 gpm (3 m3/h) and differential pressures from 87 psi (6 bar) to 232 psi (16 bar). SLC pumps are available in stainless steel and ductile iron materials of construction capable of handling up to 10,000 cst (46,000 SSU) liquids and working pressures up to 130 psi (9 bar).
