Mouvex Unveils SLS4 and SLS8 Seal-less Drive Eccentric Pumps
Mouvex is a global manufacturer of positive displacement pumps, vane compressors, screw compressors and hydraulic coolers. The company recently announced the launch of its SLS4 and SLS8 seal-less drive eccentric pump models, designed for hygienic applications.
The pumps are ideal for use in a range of applications in the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries, all of which emphasize the importance of hygienic operations. The SLS4 and SLS8 pumps feature new double-wall bellows technology and pressure switch monitoring. The flange-mounted pressure switch enables the bellows to become an independent sub-assembly within the pump. This not only makes the pumps safer but also easier to operate.
The pumps are approved for hygienic applications by a number of regulating agencies, including EHEDG, 3A, FDA and the new European Commission (EC) Regulation No. 1935/2004, which applies to all food-contact materials during production.
The SLS4 and SLS8 pumps can handle differential pressures to 10 bar (145 psi) and 6 bar (87 psi), respectively. An improvement over past models, the new pumps are manufactured with high-quality machined parts for optimum surface finish and are compatible with SMS, DIN11851, DIN11864 and ASME-BPE clamp flanges.
Mouvex’s line of eccentric disc pumps are known for their completely seal-less design, self-priming and dry-run capabilities, low shear rate, and strong vacuum and compression effect that allows for line stripping. These pumps also have exceptional volumetric efficiency even when handling variable viscosities and pressures and contain only two wear parts that are easily replaced without any pump downtime.
- Flow Rate: SLS4 75 L/min (19.8 gpm); SLS8 133 L/min (35 gpm)
- Temperature: 100ºC (212ºF); Minimum: -15ºC (5ºF)
- Speed: 750 rpm
- Solid Particle Size: 2 mm (0.079 in.)
- Soft Particle Size: 6.5 mm (0.25 in.)
The innovative eccentric disc pumps are part of the company’s replacement plan for its C-Series line, which debuted in 1996. The SLS1, SLS2 and SLS3 models have already been introduced to the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical markets. The SLS12, SLS18, SLS24 and SLS36 models will be introduced in 2014.
