Mono is a subsidiary of National Oilwell Varco (NOV), the latter of which has been a global leader in advanced technology solutions to the oil and gas industry since 1841. The subsidiary recently opened a new NOV Mono Oil and Gas facility in Southampton, UK, enabling the company to increase the strength of its offering to customers around the world. This facility provides dedicated industry expertise and support for a range of customers within the oil and gas market.

“Mono is widely recognized for the many years of experience it has in a whole host of different industries,” says Simon Lambert, Group Sales Director. “However, customers in a specialized field such as oil and gas demand expert support, and the creation of our new office will underline the fact that we can provide exactly that.”

The facility opening coincides with the launch of NOV Mono’s new range of API 676-compliant EZstrip progressing cavity (PC) pumps. This pump type is designed for difficult oil and gas applications transferring solids-laden multiphase fluids, crude oil, drilling muds, drill cuttings and produced waters with steady flow and low shear. The self-priming API 676 pumps offer end-users a practical and reliable solution that helps prevent emulsification and delays the effects of abrasion.

“The NOV Mono team in Southampton has vast experience in delivering technical support to oil and gas customers and is ideally placed to advise on any transfer pump application details for process and separation duties,” Lambert says. “They can also provide customers with access to the tremendous expertise and problem-solving abilities that lie within the wider NOV Mono organization.”

The pumps are designed with Mono’s EZstrip technology, allowing them to be fully disassembled and maintained without moving the pump. Materials of construction vary depending on the application the pumps are being used for, ranging from mild steel and stainless steels through to traceable and NACE-certified duplex steels. These features make the API 676 pumps ideal for oil, gas and mud handling duties in drilling, exploration, production, processing and separation applications.
