Pump manufacturer Hydroflo to open two new plants

Pump manufacturer Hydroflo Pumps plans to open two new facilities, including its first international assembly plant, the company recently announced.

The pump manufacturer will open one plant in David, Panama and another in Grand Island, Neb. The plants assemble and distribute the company's vertical and submersible turbines. They will be the pump manufacturer's sixth and seventh facilities.

The plants will have the same product capabilities as the company's other facilities, said Brian Daschner, Hydroflo Pumps president. Their presence will increase the company's output and extend its distribution lines to Central and South America.

The Panama plant will be operating later this year. Hydroflo has an agreement with a technology university in Panama to provide students there with experience assembling the pump products first-hand. Daschner said the company likes to give back to its communities and the agreement will help students gain real-world experience.
