Pumps playing important role in Superstorm Sandy recovery

We loved this story from the Wall Street Journal, touting the important role pumps are playing the East Coast's recovery from Superstorm Sandy.

The WSJ reports that Xylem had deployed more than 200 rentals to areas affected by the storm as of the end of last week -- and had more on the way. And pump suppliers began moving pumps toward the East Coast nearly a week before the storm hit.

"It's a horrible situation, but it is an opportunity for us to engage with our expertise and equipment." Xylem's chief executive officer, Gretchen McClain, told analysts Thursday.

And Peter Snow, a Xylem training manager in Bridgeport, N.J., told the WSJ that people often "glaze over" when he talks about his work. We know the feeling.

Our hearts go out to all those affected by Superstorm Sandy. And we're happy the hear the pump industry was at the ready and working hard to help them recover.
