These screw pumps are ideal for the bulk transfer of liquids between tanks, designed to provide economical, reliable, and safe operation. Accuracy is maximized and deflection reduced at the highest discharge pressures thanks to the pumps’ screw form and shaft.
Designed to maintain plant safety, Plenty Mirrlees Twinro pumps have a built-in full-flow relief valve. The screw pumps contain a rapid opening and damped closing mechanism that prevents destructive pressure surges. The screwset is designed so that the screws intermesh without metallic contact, making the pump suitable for non-lubricating duties, while the accurate screw profile ensures high volumetric efficiency and low running costs. The hydraulic balance of the unit provides a smooth axial pulse which produces very little noise and low vibration.
The screw pumps can handle dry start and stop conditions for a limited period of time in order to maximize plant efficiency, and they also offer complete loading and unloading of tanks. The pumps are self-priming and a liquid weir in the suction port chamber keeps the screwset wet for dry starts. The pumps are also available with seal face lubrication to reduce the risk of seal face heat damage on dry running startups.
