Sulzer, a global partner offering reliable and sustainable pump solutions for a variety of industries, recently acquired Precision Gas Turbine Inc. The latter earned millions of dollars of revenue in 2014, making it an attractive addition to Sulzer. This acquisition also allows Sulzer to expand its current capabilities for manufactured gas turbines. Precision Gas Turbine also offers unique services that the pump manufacturer can leverage to iots advantage, including complete support services for the Siemens fleet of SGT & V-Series gas turbines. In addition, Precision Gas Turbine Inc. is the only qualified non-OEM service provider for these turbines.

Founded in 1997 and located in Plantation, Florida, Precision Gas Turbine Inc. offers various field services that include minor and major maintenance on gas turbines, inspections, failure investigations, repair, and retrofits. It also provides a wide range of additional products and services including parts supply, support for control systems, project management, and quality control.

Peter Alexander, Division President of Rotating Equipment Services, says, “Precision Gas Turbine greatly enhances our gas turbine service competences primarily in the USA, but also worldwide. The acquisition will allow us to offer rotating services for the benefit of existing and new customers in the power market. In addition, we expect sales synergies from insourcing workshop repairs to our existing Houston location.”

Precision Gas Turbine Inc. enjoys an excellent reputation with its independent providers of power customers, which happens to be one of Sulzer’s three key markets. The company will also allow Sulzer to service a broader range of gas turbines than they are currently able to service. Sulzer intends to fully integrate Precision Gas Turbine Inc. into its North American service operation as quickly as possible.
