Sulzer Pumps has been active in Brazil since 1948 with two manufacturing facilities and two service centers, where they maintain a strategic center for their global operations. The company recently won an order from Estaleiro Enseada do Paraguaçu S.A to supply twelve containerized diesel-engine hydraulic driven fire pump packages for installation on four floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels that will operate in the central Pre Salt Cluster areas South of Rio de Janeiro state and North of São Paulo State, in Brazil.

This order recognizes Sulzer Pumps as a player in firewater applications and demonstrates consumer confidence in its products to supply reliable, safe, and efficient pumping solutions.

Each FPSO vessel will be supplied with three Diesel-Engine Hydraulic Driven Firewater Pump packages consisting of centrifugal pumps, diesel engine, hydraulic power unit, fire and gas detection system, and all associated auxiliaries. The pumps will supply seawater to all firefighting consumers within the vessel; the packages are also entirely autonomous and are able to operate continuously for 18 hours independent from the platform in case of an emergency.

All design, product development, and manufacturing will take place at the Sulzer Pumps’ manufacturing facility in Brazil.
