Xylem, a global manufacturer of pumps and fluid handling equipment, recently announced an addition to its Lowara product line that will offer an energy efficient solution for users in the Industrial and Building Services market.

The e-NSC series is a new range of heavy duty end suction pumps with an Minimum Efficiency Index (MEI) that far exceeds the ErP Directive’s 2015 requirements, ensuring the highest level of energy efficiency. The pumps also use IE3 motors, which require very low operation cost, reducing lifetime costs.

By combining thee-NSC series pumps with a Hydrovar pump controller, the pump speed can be reduced by 50%, translating to a decrease of up to 82.5% of power consumption compared with traditional pumps, while not skimping on performance.

The e-NSC is available in six different sizes ranging from DN100 to DN300. The pumps can handle flow up to 1,800 m³/h and pressure up to 120 m (16 bar). By default, the pumps can handle temperatures ranging from -20°C to +140°C; an extended temperature version is also available which boosts this range -40°C up to +180°C.

“Heating systems within the Building Services industry can account for a significant amount of a company’s monthly energy bill,” says Peter Agneborn, Global BU Director HVAC & Commercial at Xylem. “Given the size of many of these systems, installing energy-saving pumps such as our e-NSC range can provide end-users an avenue to reduce these bills and improve the overall efficiency of their HVAC system.”

The e-NSC range also features mechanical face seal options to eliminate leakages, and will be available in different materials – from cast iron to duplex stainless steel – depending on the specific application. It is ideal for a variety of applications, including: water transport, hydronic heating and chiller systems, fire systems.
