Xylem Showcases Fire Pumps at NFPA 2013
As one of the world’s leading water technology companies, Xylem Inc. designs and manufactures pumps for a variety of applications. This year at the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Conference & Expo, the company highlighted its comprehensive line of A-C Fire Pump brand products, which include packaged systems and Series 1580 vertical in-line pumps. The 2013 conference hosted more than 300 exhibitors and took place from June 10 through 13 in Chicago at McCormick Place Convention Center.
Xylem’s A-C Fire Pump products are designed for both residential and commercial markets. Digital displays at the company’s NFPA booth encouraged visitors to interact with product information, specs, and design elements while showing demonstrations of the product in action. Xylem experts were also available at the booth to answer any questions.
One product spotlighted at the 2013 expo was the A-C Fire Pump brand Series 1580 Vertical In-Line Pump. This pump features a self-contained design that require 30 percent less space, easy maintenance, and one stuffing box, which reduces leakage by 50 percent. In the end, this translates to reduced cost for the customer.
The company also offers a broad range of pumps in its A-C Fire Pump brand package systems, including in-line pumps, end suction pumps, vertical turbine pumps and split-case pumps. These fire pump solutions are available as prefabricated skid packages or complete pre-wired and pre-piped house units. Two Xylem pumping solutions are installed for launch pads at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for NASA, bolstering their reputation for being able to handle even the toughest applications.
